It has taken what seems like a million years, but I am finally ready to share the pictures and details of my new house! You can read all about it at:
restorationandremodel.wordpress.com
I wanted to wait until I had a few posts before launching it, which I now have written. So there is enough material there to get you started, but it is still in its early stages. I hope to add more posts over the next few weeks until I have posted about the entire house.
Happy reading/viewing!

Word Count
Lilah has her 15 month appointment (a little late due to the doctor being on vacation) this Thursday. In an attempt to tell the doctor how many words Lilah now says, I am going to list them (as many as I can remember) here, in no particular order:
hi
bye
Mommy
Daddy
Lilah
Sophie
Tehila
Nana
Poppa
Aunt Ave
Doda (Hebrew for "aunt")
Leah
doggy
kitty
ducky
slide
car
go
outside
flower
water
milk
cracker
cookie
yogurt
banana
watermelon
apple
challah
chicken
snack
book
the end
walk
walker
stroller
girl
boy
where
Elmo (any character is Elmo, she couldn't pick the actual Elmo out of a line-up to save her life)
ball
So that's 41 so far... do animal sounds count? That would make the count even higher.

The Lost Weekend
Once upon a time we had a dream- to have a weekend in our own home without the kids. A weekend where we could relax by the pool without chasing or consoling kids. A weekend where we could sleep as late as we wanted to. A weekend where we could go out together, just the two of us. A taste of what we used to have. And so we sent the girls to my parents for the weekend and made very few plans. This is how the weekend went:
Friday at 5:00pm- I returned from dropping the girls off at my parents.
Friday at 8:30pm- We ate a delicious steak dinner outside on our new outdoor furniture.
Friday at 11:00pm- We went to sleep.
Saturday at 10:00am- We woke up. Since our pool plans got rained out, we hung out indoors straightening up the house (hey, it's not so bad when there are no kids chasing behind me and screaming), and looking through old house documents we found in the attic (most comical, "the exterior walls shall receive three coats of lead paint).
Saturday at 2:30pm- We ate lunch outside. It was assorted sushi and assorted cheeses and crackers. YUM.
Saturday at 9:30pm- Night on the town!
Sunday at 1am- Bedtime.
Sunday at 11am- We woke up and went out to brunch.
Sunday at 1pm- We worked out and spent the rest of the afternoon by the pool until...
Sunday at 4:00pm- The dream came to an end.
It was marvelous. It's always interesting to me that I have no difficulty at all resuming my pre-kids lifestyle when the opportunity arises. I always expect to wake up early even though no one is crawling into my bed. But, alas, 11am is the time that greets me when I finally open my eyes. I assume I'll just watch TV and turn in early at night. But I get this rush of adrenaline and yearn to go out and join the rest of my age bracket! This weekend was such a nice way to rest and recharge (and drink copious amounts of alcohol). We are already looking at the calendar and trying to figure out when it can happen again!
