Time for this mama to get back into shape!

Yesterday Sophie turned *3 MONTHS*, making it official that I no longer just had a baby. She is no longer defined as a newborn. I can't continue making excuses for why I don't fit into most of my pre-pregnancy clothes or why I have no energy to do anything. I am still tired all the time, but it's time to just adapt already. Additionally, I realized that I only have 6 weeks until I have to give a speech at the shul banquet in front of hundreds of people. So this morning I forced myself out of bed at the ungodly hour of 10am (you try getting 3 hour chunks of sleep for 3 months after the restless 9 months of pregnancy sleep). After breakfast, Sophie and I headed downstairs for the treadmill. I dragged her swing down with me, plopped her into it, and turned on the big screen. Luckily, she inherited her parents' love of television, and she happily watched an episode and a half of Will&Grace with me while I power walked like my fat ass was on fire. I am so grateful to her for letting me do this and really hope she allows me to work out 3-5 days a week from here on out. That, combined with being even more careful about what I eat should give me some results. (I love the naive optimism that comes with the first day of a diet/exercise plan.) Now it's time to go write down how many calories are in all of the foods that I normally eat so I can see exactly what I'm up against. Wish me luck, people.
